My Chemo Graduation

Friday 3rd October

My weekend away in Stratford Upon Avon was amazing! The accommodation was absolutely beautiful, really really plush and Stratford Upon Avon is gorgeous. If you haven't been you must go.

Madeleine was first to arrive at the cottage.......pissed. Madeleine believes that it is her god given right to drink on a train. And so, four cans of Stella later she stumbles into Stratford Upon Avon. The rest of us arrived by car and were like excited little school girls running around the cottage, it really was gorgeous.

The girls decorated the place with banners and balloons and then presented me with a lovely card and present. (See photo) On opening the card I burst into tears. Its funny how I have become so emotional. I wouldn't say that I am an emotional person, unless I'm really stressed or angry. Now though, I cry easily. Nothing wrong with that though hey.

The weekend was spent chilling out, taking in the sites of Stratford Upon Avon and EATING!! My god did we eat. I managed to fit in a Hobsons Patisserie  Pie, a hotdog and two scoops of ice cream into an hour!!! I blame the steroids, I'm not sure what the others excuse is.

Energy wise I did quite well, I pretty much managed to keep up with everyone. I was quite worried about this so I was really pleased.

There are some lovely photos of the weekend but I have to say I don't like the way I look on them. However vanity kinda goes out of the window when you've had your tits chopped off, your hair has fallen out, your eyelashes and eyebrows have done one, you have chemo bloat and a steroid moonface.

I found the weekend really relaxing and managed to forget about cancer some of the time. It was lovely to spend time with my mates and feel human again. I obviously need more holidays! We all had such a lovely time that we have decided to make this an annual event.

Thanks so much to my lovely friends for making this such a great weekend.  It was a perfect way to mark the end of Chemotherapy. What are we doing to mark the end of Radiotherapy again.......?

I also have to mention the Willow Foundation again who funded and arranged this weekend for me. An amazing charity who provide "special days" or in my case "special weekends" for seriously ill young adults. Will have to arrange some kind of fund raising event for them in the future.
