Younger Women Together

Monday 2nd February

I cant quite believe that it is almost a year since I found my lump. A year!! A whole year!!  The fact that cancer stole almost a year of my life really pisses me off to be honest. There have been lots of positives though, lots.

I spent this weekend in Liverpool at the Breast Cancer Care Younger Women Together event. This involved a number of seminars and talks including Reconstruction, Healthy Eating and Relaxation. It was a great weekend especially in terms of meeting lots of women who have been through the same thing. I had already met a lot of the girls on the YBCN support group, so it was lovely to finally meet in person.

The weekend was also quite overwhelming and emotional. Talking about my cancer and treatment and listening to others talk about theirs seemed to bring back all the emotion I had felt during treatment. It made me realise that that emotion is still there, bubbling underneath. This also made me realise that it isn't over for me, I'm still going through it and I'm still having bad days. It will probably be this way for a long time.
Me and Slimkid3!! (Pharcyde)

Life is returning to normal, I'm exercising again which I'm really enjoying. I'm getting out and socialising as much as I can. I have been guilty of trying to run before I can walk though. I probably need to slow down but like I said cancer stole almost a year of my life, I'm making up for lost time.
