Thursday 14th August
I'm now in my "well week" thank god. Recovery from "T" seems to take much longer than FEC. The chemo nurse said that it is cumulative though so I suppose each recovery time will get longer and longer, bummer. I'm still getting the odd ache and pain but nowhere near as bad as the first two weeks.
I popped into work yesterday, it was great to see everyone. Felt like I'd never been away. It absolutely exhausted me though!! Not sure why exactly, all I did was sit about. I came home and fell asleep for a couple of hours I was so tired. I then had a marathon 12 hour sleep last night. Fatigue is just rubbish.
On Tuesday I went to "Look Good Feel Better" -
Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is the only international cancer support charity, providing practical and very effective free services for women and teenagers suffering from the visible side effects from cancer treatment.
LGFB is dedicated to improving the wellbeing and self-confidence of people undergoing treatment for any type of cancer. Many beneficiaries tell us that LGFB helped them regain a sense of control and normality at a time when diagnosis and treatment had taken over their lives

At the LGFB workshop you are shown how to apply makeup by ladies working in the industry. For us cancer sufferers it is really helpful to be shown how to apply makeup, especially in terms of disguising the fact that our eyebrows and eyelashes have decided to go on holiday without us.
You are provided with a big bag of lotions, potions and makeup which you get to take home with you. A really lovely treat when you are feeling pretty shit about yourself. Here is a photo of my goody bag.
It was nice to meet other women going through the same treatment, although I was the youngest there. Apart from Clare my "chemo friend" who is the same age and going through the same treatment as me.
We were invited to take our scarves/wigs off at the workshop. Everyone wiped them off apart from me, I just couldn't do it. However everyone was really interested in how I had tied my scarf, I tried to explain it but they were struggling to understand. I then thought sod it and wiped mine off to give them a demonstration of how to tie a scarf. The first time I have revealed my head in public (apart from my photo on here, but in real life is a lot harder) well done me.
I'm back at Clatterbridge on Monday for round 5. Round 5!!! Its coming round really quickly isn't it!! Especially for me now the recovery is taking longer. Its starting to feel like as I am just recovering from one I'm back for the next. Fingers crossed this one will be ok. I have to say I'm really scared this time, more scared than I have been for the others. I just have to remind myself that I will feel better eventually. Wish me luck!!!
Good luck Kim, you're doing really well, not too long to go now. How about putting a pic on here, when you've got your new make up on. You may be able to help me with mine lol xx.....Jac
